Just a reminder about Record Store Day 2012 coming up on April 21.

More info here http://www.recordstoreday.com/Home

There is a very nice pdf download of all the releases, quantities, etc. and the resource listing all the local stores and their websites is awesome for those of us that travel a bit.

There's an app too. Just go to the app store on your iPhone or droid.

Not much interest in the 7", but there several 12" I'm interested in. Arcade Fire; Destroyer; Fleetwood Mac 45 rpm; Luna; Phish; Grace Potter and the Nocturnals; Paul Simon;

Last year I was at the "uptown" Reckless in Chicago. This year I think I'll go to Flat Black & Circular in East Lansing, visit my middle daughter to boot!

Where's everybody else going? C'mon, keep this topic going for just one more week!

I'm on the lookout for the Flaming Lips records.  I asked on shop about it today and he said he didn't get any and I was the 50th person to ask about it.  May be a tough one to find tomorrow.

I'll be hitting Vinyl Confessions in Huntington Beach, Port of Sound, Creme Tangerine and Factory Records in Costa Mesa.

The day finishes up with a big listening party at my place.  A bunch of vinyl buddies are bringing over their RSD hauls and we'll spin records deep into the night.

Scottie's in Summit, NJ is still around?!?
I practically lived there as a kid.

If anyone finds copies of PJ Harvey's
Dry
Rid of Me
and
Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea
in good condition please pick them up for me and shoot me a PM.
Thanks!

Well, I had a successful morning. I got everything I was hoping to get and then some.

Janis Joplin's Pearl
Mississippi John Hurt's Last Sessions
Ricky Scaggs and Tony Rice's release
Grace Potter and the Nocturnals Live at Sun Studios

I also took advantage of the store's buy 3 get 1 free CD deal and got:
Levon Helm's Electric Dirt and Ramble at the Ryman
Rory Block's Gone Woman Blues
Buddy Guy's Living Proof.

Hope you all had a successful day

Doc.

I got pretty much everything I was looking for.
Phish "Junta "w/poster -this release was done correct! Sounds fantastic!
Destroyer "Rubies" - got the only one and some lady was crying about it
Gorillaz 10" w/James Murphy
Grateful Dead "Darkstar"
Flaming Lips "Heady Fwends"

Missed out on the Sigur Ros and forgot to look for the Widespread.

Waited 3 hours in line, but got what I went for in the first place.  Phish Junta w/poster.  Even though it's for a friend of mine, I felt super successful in getting it :)

Here is what I picked up on my first trip. Going back with my VPI 17 to clean records for folks who make an RSD purchase and give some mini seminars on vinyl care.

The 45 rpm Fleetwood Mac blew me away. Grace Potter sounds great too. I have the two Luna albums on CD and now on vinyl :thumb:
