I put in a query to Cross-spectrum Labs about their group buy on mics.

So, if anyone in Australia is interested in getting a calibrated (*) mic for room measurement, please let me know here. (Pse post in thread, don't PM as I'll lose track of it.)

I'd probably suggest the Dayton "Basic Plus": http://www.cross-spectrum.com/measurement/calibrated_dayton.html

(*) "Calbrated" means that it comes with a file that you load into REW to compensate for the mic's non-linear response.

Price for Basic+ is USD70 plus your share of shipping, plus local postage (should fit into a 500g satchel). Should work out around AUD$85 all up.
