Allocator has more flexibility to shape the output response.

How so?

So when I asked about my problem at the jriver forum, that was basically the answer, to use the built in crossover in jriver.

I have not played much with Allocator yet, but it has a lot more functions than what JRiver can do.  JRiver lets you from select 4 slopes, and pick the frequency.

Allocator has more flexibility to shape the output response.  As I said at Jriver, it's hard to give up a feature you already have, even if you're not using it now.

So for now, I will most likely look at options other than JRiver for my project.

Matt at JRiver announced in the thread you linked to that the Allocator Saving/Loading is is fixed for the next public build of JRiver.

This sounds about right.  Matt and the other guys at JRiver are on top of issues that come up.  :thumb:

So JRiver and Allocator are working to fix this, so you will be able to save the Allocator settings, so I am crossing my fingers and hoping between the two of them they can figure it out.

A couple of reasons I like Allocator, first is you can import frd files for your individual drivers, and have them show up as curves on the display.  Then you can tweak Allocator to give a flat response.
I also like seeing the graphical display of the response, to let you see what the effect is of your changes.

Seems like JRiver has enough capability to also do this stuff, between their room correction, equalizers and convolution, but it also does not seem as intuitive to me.

The Allocator user's manual is worth reading if you are interested.
