I keep a big Wamo slingshot with a bag of those small wooden balls we use for field trial training retriever dogs next to the recliner, along with a whistle.  Whenever her or the cat gets close to the stereo room, I fire one right on the butt cheek and blow the whistle.  After two or three times all you have to do is blow the whistle and both of them jump about three feet.  Works great for all household companions.

Thanks, Letitroll98 - I've been laughing so hard after reading this, I have tears streaming down my cheeks!  Once I compose myself, I start laughing all over again when I think of the whole image of this in my mind's eye.  I'll be chuckling all day over this one.
