HAs there been any talk about whether the Camera connection kit will continue to output audio and/or with with an external dac.

My experience with the ipad1 is it works with some dacs and not others...

I just watched* a bit of 'Blackthorn' on Netflix (streaming) on my new iPad3. Wow, I'm really surprised with the quality. had a chance to view someone's iPad2 and my iPad3 side-by-side and only when you are looking for the pixels very close up, is it noticeable. When you see it, then the difference is obvious. But at normal viewing distance—not so much.

Not sure if it's my work's high speed network or netflix's increased resolution but I the image is great.

*just a little background video while working on a 24" display.

It'll be a fun toy.

I just received notice that my iPad has been shipped.  That is almost two weeks ahead of schedule.  I knew they could do it.

Not to be uninformed here, but just what does an ipad do?  I have a computer at work, at home, and in my car. The purpose of the ipad is?

I've had my 'New iPad' since it was released (Best Buy had a lot of them in stock). I'm surprised at how useful I'm finding this, my first tablet, to be. It's purpose will differ depending on the person. Think of it as a PDA with all the usefulness of a netbook minus a keyboard (both the good and bad that comes with that). Only, it now has an incredible screen and the battery life is ten hours of actual use (around there).

If you find yourself browsing the web a lot without typing much (say, on forums, emails, or whatever) it's a remarkably useful device. It's portability makes it so much more useful than a netbook for this sort of stuff.
