Liberty Cable (best known to custom installers) is blowing out their Z500 THX certified OCC copper interconnects and speaker cables at ridiculously cheap prices.  A 10ft. pair of OCC copper speaker cables is only $26.18 and a 2m OCC copper digital audio cable is $5.20.  Lots of other cables at crazy cheap prices, too.  Check them out here: http://www.libertycable.com/index.php

It seems like they only deal non retail and by large spools.

Martin, do you have links to the specific items you mentioned? I tried navigating the site and couldn't find them, either.

Sorry... Plug "Z500" into the search box to find all the OCC products.  Search on "THX" to bring up all the good stuff.

This link is for the 10ft. speaker cables: http://www.libertycable.com/prod_details.php?pitem=Z500UAA3

And this one is for the 2m digital cable: http://www.libertycable.com/prod_details.php?pitem=Z500ND2THX

Items the general public can buy will have an ADD TO CART button.  If you try to add an item not available to the general public it will show as being removed when you view the cart.  I purchased a number of items.

Martin

PS: I just received my order from UPS and I am extremely impressed with the apparent build quality of the cables, especially considering their bargain bin price.

Got myself two pairs but it is still asking me to call them to finalize the order....what does this mean?  Anyway they are bargain priced....cannot even make a run of cables that length that affordably.  Hopefully they are sonically acceptable.

Awesome!  I just ordered up myself some speaker cables and ICs.  I am not a huge believer in cables above and beyond good quality copper and construction, so this is golden for me.

Do you have any observations about the sound quality?

Thanks,

I replaced my 5ft. DIY Neotech NEI-3004 based balanced cables with Furutech connectors in my system.  The Neotech cables were very detailed, as good or better than any cable I've used.  The 4m Z500 Liberty Cables sound just as good and have allowed me to move my equipment rack out from between my speakers.  Now I have low amp stands between the speakers and my rack off to the side.

The S/PDIF and RCA cables both seem very detailed and sound as good or better than the cables they replaced.  (Blue Jeans Cable S/PDIF & TCI RCA)

I have yet to try the speaker cables.

These cables were a bargain - Monoprice.com type bargain - but sound as good as the most detailed cables I have had in my system.

My speaker cables arrived today. I'm also impressed with the build quality :o. There's a lot of cable here for the price. I was also impressed with the customer service. I had a little trouble with ordering on the website. After I complained, the webmaster called me twice to be sure that the problem was solved. I'll give a sound quality report in a week.

Thanks Martin for the heads up. :thumb:

I just bought some more. :D : another set of speaker cables,
a pair of RCA interrconnects and the $8.00 digital cable.

I was happy with my previously purchased speaker cables from Liberty AV Solutions. They seemed to be an improvement over my diy White Lightning Mooshine SC. Just a little more transparency and a more organic sound (whatever that means ). Very good deal for cable using
 Ohno-Continuous Cast Copper
conductors(OCC). Each copper strand is a single continuous
99.99997% pure crystal.
Even if you were buying the wire only, this seems like a very good deal. :thumb:

I tried to check it out, but it says I need to create an account, even to just get prices.

And, it says you need to be a company to get an account, that they don't sell to end users.  It is asking for a federal tax number to create the account.

Did I miss something?

Try calling their customer service. Just tell them that you'd like to shop in the bargain bin. You don't need a fed. tax number for that. If necessary, just place your order via telephone. I found that their customer service quite helpful.

About a year ago they had these on sale for this price and i re-cabled my entire system with them, they also had Z500 speaker cables not sure if they still do. I first ran into the Z500 cables when I was working doing custom installs and we used liberty cable, a pair of interconnects was something around 70 bucks back then. They are very nice cables and for the price a no-brainer. I did not do any listening to compare to what I had before because I dont think cables make that much of a sonic difference but compare these to what you'll get elsewhere and theyre an amazing deal. Great quality and look good to boot!

Glad to see them back at these prices. Think i'll order some more just to have on hand!

Grab them while you can... Looks like they are eliminating the entire line.  I want two pairs of 1.5m balanced cables; I'm thinking about buying a 3 meter pair, cutting them in half and reterminating the cut ends.

Got the cables to finish off my system yesterday. Thought I'd post some pics to show what they are since the liberty site does not have much information. Rarely am I a "fanboy" for something but I love these cables for the price. In addition to the audio interconnects I also ordered a set of component video cables and a couple .5m digital coaxial cables to keep on hand for future use. I did not realize it before, but the video and digital audio cables are actually different from the analog audio cables. Because of the type of connector on them it looks like they are using a coaxial cable because they have crimp on connectors whereas the audio cables have soldered on connectors that are a little higher quality. The audio cables are also a larger diameter. *Edit* Apparently it is coaxial cable but with soldered connectors and finally a crimp ferrule over that. Hmm better than I thought!  :D From the Liberty site-

Quote
Each copper strand is a single continuous
99.99997% pure crystal. This product features true precison
video coaxial construction. A high strand 23 AWG center
conductor, Foam Polyethylene dielectric insulation, and a
dual 100% Copper Foil and 95% coverage OCC Copper Braid
shield make this 75-Ohm cable excellent for analog Video
applications. The use of Silver Solder for the center
conductor and Crimp Ferrule Shield termination make this RCA
termination 75-Ohm.

Also note that the analog stereo cables have directional arrows on them because the shield is only connected at one end (see photo). The digital and video cables are not directional.

Also- I did not have any problems with needing an account to order them. This time or the last time I bought a bunch. When you order through the bargain bin it uses the account "BARBIN" which is for ecommerce. They also do not give you a shipping charge when you place your order...much like Mcmaster Carr... It was 10 or 12 dollars shipping for UPS ground for me...

UPS just dropped off my second order of cables: 17' speaker cables, 10' digital and a pair of 10' RCA interconnects. The digital cable is being burned in now ... if you believe in that sort of thing... I do. :D

I really liked my first order of 13'  speaker cables. The 17 footers will be for a future project. I may split them in two and install my own connectors. I also may split the RCAs. IMO this is a very good deal. You couldn't come close to buying the bare materials for what these cost. The Ohno grade copper is icing on the cake and what separates them from other bargain cables.
