These two pieces were my favorites of all the 5AR4s I had, including a Mullard fat base and an Amperex metal base:
Mullard GZ34/5AR4 (labelled Amperex Bugle Boy) - bought from Vintage Tube Services - 3 33 date code -
about 3-400 hours - $70 SOLD
Mullard G34/5AR4 (labelled Philips Miniwatt) - bought from Europe - date code F32 B4D2 - less than a hundred hours - $110 SOLD.
Mullard GZ37/CV378 brown base - NOS matched pair - bought from Vintage Tube Services - $150/pair or $80 each. SOLD.
The GZ32 (black base, which is superior to the brown base versions) excels in imaging and refinement, with vocals that "float" in front of one. My favorite for vocals and small scale acoustic music.
The GZ34 has a full, concentrated sound, with more lower end punch.
The GZ37 has a harmonically rich sound and a large soundstage.
