I know I’m going to regret this, but I’m selling my Audion Silver Knight Premier Preamp Line stage with phono. Class A Triode Line/Phono. 5 inputs which includes a very good phono stage. It was professionally upgraded with Mundorf Silver/Oil caps & internal 7n OCC Silver/teflon wire on the phono stage and 2 of the line inputs.

This preamplifier is MUCH better than the Shindo Auregies I owned immediately before it.   I have also personally compared it to another very big name pre which I won't name out of respect for a buddy's sale and it left it sounding strident, mechanical and unmusical to both of our ears.

It will be very securely packed & shipped with a quad of 1961 usa Amperex 6922 (tested at 103/103)& a quad of of Sovtek.

I've heard this preamp on several occasions at Fred's place.  It is excellent with both digital and analog sources.

I have also heard his Bella amp he now has up FS.  It too is excellent and a steal at the price.  If my speakers were more compatible, I'd be all over it.

Alright, I'll come out and say it:  The Dude!  A local friend was tossing his on the sale block and I wanted to give it a listen, quietly entertaining the idea of taking it off his hands...  The Audion was far more musical in my opinion, which was a relief as the dude is huge.

I would'nt go that far especially since you have not heard it in a system it has synergy with , it's far from flavor of the month.  More like SOTA if it's right for your rig. The Audion was just a better fit in Fred's rig.

The Audiogon bluebook is apparantly $2200 so this is somewhat of a steal.  I'm actually surprised I still have it, but blame it on audiogon's crappy transitional state.
