Sale pending... SOLD!

Offered again, this spectacularly beautiful pair of N3 towers in an Eggplant pearl finish and buffed to a super high gloss.  Upgrades include sonicaps and Mills resistors (no platinum bypasses though) and crossovers built by the Skiing Ninja.  Also has Elektra tube connectors for use with bananas or the included, unused set of 4 Elektra male studs.

Price is a rock bottom $1200 and includes everything but shipping and for that you will have to contact Ruben as he knows how much the shipping crate will weigh and what his discounted YRC freight s will be.

For those of you who don't know who Ruben is, he is AC member "out of thewoods" and built these speakers, does fantastic work, and posts often in the GR Research circle.  Ruben lives near to me so dropped these off at my house so I don't have shipping crates, but I will cover those in the sale and you work out the rest of the shipping details with him.

These are in absolutely perfect condition, sound great and have very high WAF.  Selling as I'm moving back to single-driver, crossoverless speakers that my 2a3 amp can drive.

Hope to have some pics soon...

Thanks,

Jim

Here is a link to the thread with the pics:

Ruben has also generously offered to repaint these in any color you want for an additional $600 -- which is still far less than a new pair would cost.

Thanks,

Jim

Bump...

You guys did see that Ruben will make these any color you want, right?  You do know that this is a killer price, right?,  Well, I'll take it one step further -- $1100 for the speakers, and that is my rock bottom best and final as I'm already taking a good bath on these as it is.

Boulder, CO 80304.  Though the shipping will be from Ruben's place about 20 minutes from here, using his discounted freight carrier, so you'll have to check with him for the shipping options and prices as I simply have no way to calculate those.

Hey Jim,

How's the Bellari treating you? Will pass this link along to a buddy; his VMPS speakers just got crushed by the movers.

Best,

Trihn,

Thanks for the refferal on the speakers -- do really need to make room here soon.

As for the Bellari, still waiting for a cartridge and then have to get a friend to come  over and set it up for me.

Take care,

Jim

Someone needs to jump on these they are a fantastic speaker. You would be shocked at how close these are to a full range speaker, meaning no sub required. I had a friend over who has a lot of listening experience and the first words from him were "I can't believe the bass" :D

Thanks, Robert -- and I'm sure a set of your cables would work very nicely with these :D.

Ok folks, one last incentive -- $1000 for the pair.

Robert is right, no real need for a sub here, even using a 15 watt tube amp.

I cannot believe these haven't sold. I check this thread every day telling myself I could find somewhere else in the house that needs speakers  :duh:
If you're in the market with three grand or less, you will have a hard time doing better than these.

Hey Jim...

Are the dimensions of the speakers the same as GR-Research's plans?  Also, how far from the wall must these be placed for the best bass (I believe there is a bottom rear port??).

I live just north of Golden (off Highway 93), so shipping will be the back of my car).

Thanks, Mike

Guys, for some reason I'm not getting notice of replies anymore.  Anyway, I have two potential buyers in line who are waiting for shipping quotes from Ruben, so kind of in a holding pattern at the moment.  Mike, yes, as far as I know they are built to Danny's plans.

I have mine about 14" out from the front wall -- basically because it is far as I can get away with in thespace I have.  It's an odd room acoustically speaking, but this seems to befine.

Hope this helps, and again, I'I'll update when I know what folks want to do.

Thanks all for the interest -- these beauties are now sold and will be on their way to the Great White North.

Mike B., sure would have been easy to do the deal locally -- sorry.  I've got a couple of reel to reel tape decks if you're interested :-).

Lift with your legs!  Mike

Thanks so much Jim.

I can't wait to have these in my possession.  I'm curious how they will compare to my LS6s.  They probably won't come close to the LS6s dynamics, volume of sound and bass extension but I think they will hold their own everywhere else.  I have read a few comments from others and I think I'll be very happy with their sound.  I can't wait to see them in person too, as it will be the first time I see Ruben's work up close.

Hope you guys don't get hit too hard with the Snow storm.

Take Care,

Steve
