Doctor, Doctor.......... Please help, this patient is sick and needs you! Hello. I am in the odd position of needing ( yes I know need and audio rarely go together ) a pair of sub woofers. The TBI units have held my attention since hearing an early pair mated with some Rethm ( Lowther based ) full range single driver speakers years ago. I currently have a pair of Dunalvy SC-IV Improved ( basically the same as the IVa model ) and want more low end extension and heft. Last week one of my Final Sound S220 subs gave up the ghost in the form of a dead Tripath amp board. Final sound has gone the way of the Dodo so a repair is unlikely. Paired subs are a must for me. I am ready to pull the trigger on the TBIs but will need amp specifics. Just get me the model numbers and I can follow up w/ Madisound.
My question to you is this: Can the Magellan VIIIs be run up to the 65=70 hz range and still be coherent in the 20 hz range? I want that " down in the deep of the soul" extension but also want the " punch in the gut" slam. So Doc. can you advise a poor patient?
