Well, went to purchase the Benchmark DAC1 HDR and the guy showed me a W4S DAC-2 now just doing some thinking.  My NAD pre-amp got repaired so life is good which makes the W4S DAC and the Eastern Electric MiniMax DAC an option DAC wise.

I would suggest the Naim Uniti line -- especially the UnitiQute... It is a very capable all-in-one (with a 30 wpc amp).  4 digit inputs, 1 analog, plus ETHERNET -- it is a renderer, so you can play directly from a uPNP server -- the file is transfered to the Naim rather than a bit-stream (no jitter, etc.).  New release can do 24/192 and handle Apple Lossless.   Cost is reasonable (especially for NAIM gear).

There are preamp outputs, so you can always add a power amp if needed/desired...

Of course, the downside is that if you go this route, is that you will start listening to a lot more music and stop searching for gear... :)
