A post in the top 5 favorite got me thinking about support for the products.

Virtue Audio will bend over backwards to take care of you. Emotiva also has excellent customer service in that they are responsive. But Virtue is a passion, the level of customer service is stratospheric.

I've mostly had good experiences with manufacturers, as opposed to dealers or distributors. Robert Lee of Acoustic Zen once went out of his way to fix a problem for me that really was in no way his responsibility.

VPI has been real good to deal with, too.  They were great when I had to revive a rotted out VPI-17.

Audio by Van Alstine once did major service for me on a power amp that was out of warranty by a few months even though they couldn't replicate the problem in their shop. They could have easily said "That'll be $xxx" and in fact would have been completely justified in doing so. That is above and beyond.

Resolution Audio. Jeff Kalt provides excellent customer service.
I purchased a used CD-50 on Audiogon that would not go in to standby via the remote. Jeff sent me a new EPROM along with a new remote control to fix the problem. He did this all on his dime. That is customer service.
The CD-50 is the longest running piece in my system.

SOTA.  When my 25-year TT started to break one thing after another, they were very friendly, helpful, and PATIENT with me.  Sent the parts fast, too! :thumb:

+1 for Sony as the worst...I have worked with their support both personally and professionally and am amazed people still buy and even moreso sell their products.

I have heard great things about Emotiva, many of my friends have had greta experiences with them prior too, during, and after the sale

As I am basically building a system from scratch how potential companies interact with my questions tells me a lot about the company and if I want to do business with them. Here are some that in my opinion have been extremely helpful and engaging. And in the case of Merlin, constantly goes above and beyond the call of Duty:
