the typical 100 hours seems to do it.
I've found the change to be more subtle than other amps.
lets see what others have to say

Jason, I noticed that it got better over night. Do you have to play music for it to break in or will just being powered up do it?

Playing music will do it best because that will also burn in the input components (caps) leaving it turned on without music playing will only burn in the output compliments

If you enjoy that sound and want to really take it to the ultimate, have Jason install some Claritycaps for you and get yourself a battery kit. You'll thank us later.

RClark: Clarity caps? Please explain further. I will be using the amp on a bedroom setup (a very modest one) and since I fall asleep with the music the amp stays on all night. Wouldn't the battery wear down?

Jason, thanks for info on break-in.

Jason can tell you more about the caps, however, you'll only get it high passed, but if you have a sub, it's truly the way to go. Lighten the speaker's load and really let it shine.

The batteries stay plugged in permanently.

Now that Randy's completely confused...  :duh:

Randy the batteries have an auto charger that keeps them topped off.

the Clarity cap upgrade is something I do.
I upgrade the input capacitors inside the amp for better sound, due to your amps size limitations there are no upgrades available unless you were using the 80hz highpass feature.
its a long confusing explanation but if your doing some serious listening as you fall asleep and are interested just email me jason@virtueaudio.com
otherwise enjoy your amp as it already sounds great and sleep well :)

Jason, I have been enjoying the clarity even as I sleep - and when I'm awake.

Since I won't be using a sub, I'll stick with what I have. It's pretty good. Thanks.

Would Clarity Caps 2.2uf fit the 2.2?  What happens to the bypass caps?

Out of interest, which battery kit are you using?
