Maybe narrow it down a little?  :D

Here are random titles

The Apartment (dir. Billy Wilder, Jack Lemmon, Shirley MacLaine)
Miller's Crossing (Coen Bros., Gabriel Byrne, Albert Finney)
WarGames (uh, WarGames!)
Autumn Sonata (Dir. Ingmar Bergman, Ingrid Berman's last film)
Let The Right One In
Rockers (Roots, Rock, Reggae! Very good movie)

I just watched probably the best lost at sea- shark attack movie ever made (not saying much there), The Reef, on Netflix. HIGHLY recommended, very intense, well acted.

The Game.....Just watch it.
You only get one shot at seeing this film.
You can only see it once.
There is no second chance.
Period.

Let me know what you think after you've seen it.

The Spanish Prisoner - starring Steve Martin & directed by David Mamet - great stuff
The Good Thief - a terrific performance by Nick Nolte
Zombieland - great fun
Inglorious Basterds - what needs to be said, it's Tarantino

Going a different direction:

The Thin Man (a great comedy/mystery from the 1930s: if you like it, watch the whole series!)

The Seven Samurai (Japanese from the 1950s, one of the best films I've seen, story, cinematography, action, drama, in black/white with subtitles)

The King's Speech (a recent film, extremely well done, a classic)

Have fun!

The Three Colors Trilogy (Blue, White, Red)

Now 50% off on Barnes and Nobles. As is their entire Criterion collection...

Agreed, William Powell is the artist of the month on TCM. He was also terrific in "My Man Godfrey"

To Kill A Mockingbird and Captian Horatio Hornblower   both starring Gregory Peck

I've been surprised how many movies that I remember fondly have lost much of their appeal when I watched them again.  Some of the movies  that have withstood repeated viewing:

M
The Wild Bunch
Iron Monkey
Blade Runner
O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Batman Begins
Spirited Away
The Incredibles
The Lives of Others
A Prophet

The Ultimate Halloween double feature is Nosferatu followed by that absolutely brilliant movie about the "making of" Nosferatu called "Shadow of the vampire." Manages to be both hilarious and terrifying. Great film. I wanna say John Malkovich played the lead.
