Selling a complete Alix board kit that includes the pcengines board w/ 512 mb CF card with Voyage/MPD flashed, but not configured, on it, a natural aluminum clear anodized box and the basic wall wart power supply.  This is a slightly older version of the board currently being recommended on the thread in the Discless circle -- basically the same but with a 512 mb card instead of 1 gb, and 3 ethernet ports instead of 2 -- perfectly suitable for building the music player for usb dacs. $90

Also available is a 9v 1 amp Acopian linear power supply -- raw supply with barrier strip connections and should be mounted in a box with switch, line cord, etc.  This is perfectly suitable to power the alix board above (which is what it was purchased for), but may also be possible to use with any of the squeezeboxes that use 9 volt supply -- not sure about the current rating as I don't have a SB, so better check that.  Originaal price was $170 delivered to me, sellling for $100

Prices include shipping in ConUS and no paypal fee to the buyer -- buy both for $175.

I might be interested in one of these.
I am thinking of using one as a server.
Do you know if I can run vortexbox (fedora) on a ALIX with a external music drive?
I would prefer this power usage over a big pc running all day.

Jeff,

I honestly don't know.  You should probably ask nycparamedic or one of the other linux guys as I just don't know the details of how to make this work, or even if it can work.

According to a few posts on the internet ALIX won't run vortexbox (as server).

"ferdora core uses i686 code, but amd geode lx doesn't support that"

EDIT:

I wonder if I can run Squeezebox server on Voyage?  That is really all I need to have running.

EDIT2:

I seems that it is possible according to this post.
I hope to install an internal 2.5 IDE or use an outboard USB drive for storage.

Jeff,

I honestly don't know.  I'm not avoiding the question, I just don't want to give you the wrong information.

I vaguely recall that the squeeze server program was written in perl so I guess it is theoretically possible, but again, I don't know.  It's been years since I had a SBB.
