Perhaps as a tutorial on adding smileys?

(Sorry, I couldn't resist, please forgive me)

But yes, unless someone has any new scientific finds on speaker stand resonances, pretty much answered.

Sure, no worries. > Here's a slide show <.
They may not be in order, but hey.....
One of the guys was asking what a t-nut is and how it works, so there's a large number of pictures surrounding that subject.
Next weekend, I'll be pouring the sand.

I've used #8 lead shot... which is probably no longer available, but you can use steel shot and that should be available.    I considered sand, but felt it was too fine and would leak out the bottom of the stand.

Hey Bob, I have something that works better than sand ... tested with an accelerometer for resonances and a buried mic capsule for sound transmission.  Sorry guys, don't want to post in public because it's some of my secret sauce  :D  But let me know if you want some Bob.

We have found two very affective methods of taming speaker stand resonance. Bee's Wax is one poured into the stand with Vibrapods under the drivers.
Using a pendulum weight hanging from two wires from the top plate is so far the most affetive method tried. Have fun.

Nice work area, shop you have there. One can never have too many clamps!
Nice pics too, you used a Nikon D40.

Pics of my clamp job, I did the right and left, both at the same time.

Absolutely!  :D
That sounds cool thank you very much.

I've wanted to use lead shot, but the cost was too much for the folks I've build for.

Charles - the weight you refer to is interesting. Not able to do that inside my situation, but interesting none the less.
Many year ago, Ford used to hang a heavy weight off the rear transmission mount (or was it an exhaust mount?) Same principle.

AE - (how to you make the symbol?)  Thank you for the complement!
I'd like to build both speakers at the same time, hadn't thought about doing two at the same time..  :duh:
II love my little D40, but the 5600 and D200 are better.

Code page 437, character 146.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_page_437

Æ is an Aesc (pronounced "ash") a grapheme formed from the letters a and e.
A and E are my initials. Whenever I handwrite my initials to a document, I make it an Æ not AE.
So if I ever give you a hard time, that makes me an Aesc (ash) hole.

The characters can be entered by holding the Alt key while typing in 0198 (upper case) or 0230 (lower case) on the number pad on Windows systems (the Alt key and 145 for æ or 146 for Æ may also work from the legacy IBM437 codepage).

If you have a Mac, (I do) you can keyboard it, shift, option, " , or simply one handed drag and drop from the Character Palette.

Yea, but it's become more interesting.
So far, we've learned about filling speaker stands, the speakers themselves, how to post dead horse emoticons, and special keys to make symbols.
Overall, this thread has resurfaced into a viable bit if quality information.
I'm think the possiblities of a future sticky thread in the making right here?
