I had both the BCD-1 and BDA-1. They have essentially the same sonic characteristic. The BDA-1 sound however is more influenced by the source whether it be computer or standalone player. Also the BDA-1 having two chips, one for each channel had better stereo seperation, and slightly more bass output.
