Songbirds home to roost
« on: 4 Nov 2011, 03:36 am »
My Songbirds arrived today. Sorry no pics yet. Needed to get them set up. You know first things first. Got the box opened unpacked. When I removed the wrap all I could say was "O my, wow. They are just beautiful! Jim did a great job.

Hooked them up put the demo disk in the player hit play and again "Wow".  I had planed to add a Sub. Not sure now. Need to listen for awhile to see how much a sub would help with some of the music I listen to.

Thanks, Jim

Congratulations, Richard, and welcome to the Salk family (it's growing every day)!  Which veneer did you go with?

As always:

Did someone say pics?

Well, that is not a problem.

And a close-up...

Happy listening Richard!

That's a really sweet finish. What wood is that?

The pics do not do them justice. The are more of a golden colors. The wood is Australian Myrtle. Very unique.

Myrtle...I'll be darned.
I have some Oregon Myrtle wood Blocks & Pucks.
Lovely wood.  Can't really say if it improved the sound.
I have some friends who swear by the wood.
Bought from WAIPUNA SOUND
But it sure does look good.
