High Pass in VPC-1

High Pass in VPC-1

Question...If I wanted to build a simple passive 1st order hi-pass filter inside my VPC-1, would it be better located on the input or output side of the unit? I'm using it downstream from a VDA-2/VAC-1, in front of a SS amp.

It would be best to place it (a capacitor) at the input of the amplifier. Your amp probably already has an input cap, you can just change it to the desired value for the frequency you desire.

Yes, this is best because you won't have to add another series capacitor in the signal path and you can calculate the value based on the input impedance of your amplifier. Use a high quality film cap... you can experiment with different types to get the sound you want.
