The current edition of these amps, the M-180s, are "Stereophile" Class A and will extract $5,500 from your bank account. The Magnum M-120s are, IMO, superb amps that will drive most speakers with both sweetness and power. If you want a little more sweetness, you can flip the switch on the back and run them in triode for 60 watts a channel. If you want a little more power, go ultralinear for 120 watts per.

Here's what "S'phile" had to say about the Magnum M-120s: They "managed to convey the best aspects of solid-state and tubes: while the instrument placement, transparency, and frequency extension might suggest solid-state, the depth of soundstaging, the wealth of harmonic detail, and the midrange layering were dead giveaways that tubes were in the circuit. . . . The Magnum M-120 tube monoblock was remarkably smooth, clean, warm, detailed."

They hadn't seen duty for a while, so they've just been to Rogue and back for a complete physical and check-up. (Mark O'Brien and the Rogue crew are first-rate, friendly folks.) An almost-new set of Electro-Harmonix KT88s, sourced from Upscale Audio (so you know they are tested and true) completes the picture. If your taste runs that way, you can also use 6550s for power tubes.

Will meet within one hour of 23185 for pick-up, but I have all boxes and packing material for shipping.

$1,850 plus shipping. Add 3% for Paypal.
