Library By Album, that ones for you Marius ;)

Looking better and better  :thumb:

I feel honored

Is this the same as in the current firmware clicking next to the settings? Because when I click the library by Album, I only see Item 1 Item 2 Item3 listed, but no album.....

And I do see my Albumart in the Settings now. Even the strangest ones I haven;t got on my HDD. Sara Boyle was never on my discs, and she is prominently displayed in Albumart
Lol,
And thanks!

Hey Marius,

Do you have any album's that are mixes?  Oh the firmware i last emailed you has the version of max 2 from the video.

Chris

Marius

I don't have mixes, the only ones that come close are the songs on the Bryston thumbdrive I guess.

nevermind, someday I'll find out why Sara is in my AlbumArt.

What confuses me more is that when I am playing an album I selected and it thus formed a current playlist, that album is stopped immediately when I click on an Album by AlbymArt. I would wish that when I click on an Album, that would be like browsing it, and not selecting it yet.
I believe you programmed the interface that way. Clicking once on 'by AlbyumArt' does nothing, clicking it twice does show those albums. The same way would be more intuitive: clicking it once would show the album and its songs in the right pane, clicking them twice, could select them.

I would think that it would then be more logical to add them to the current playlist, in steda of erasing the current and replacing it...

O well, designing an interface has its ways....

Mentioned earlier but never answered: How about Vtuner functionality in Max. Seems to be the universal  way of internetradio.

Thanks and good luck...

Marius
ps on my temporary windows machine Iexplorer and firefox don't work and won't see the BDP, only the BDP-1 Homepage, but clicking those buttons does nothing. Chrome works fine. I can see the BDP in Explorer, so the network is doing fine.

IE won't work with BDP (other than the homepage) - it never has
You need the latest version of the firmware (1.19) to get it to work with Firefox as I found out last night.
1.19 ended a month's worth of frustration for me.

Hi Marius,

if its just one album thats out of place (ie Sara) and not many then i may know why its there.  When its making a list of unique artists and albums to use to search the internet it usually comes across at least one song that it is unable to get neither names for.  When it performs the search it just uses the first album cover it comes across and assigns it as _.jpg and __thumb.jpg.  Its a bug that i have been meaning to fix, but as you can imagine there are others in front of it.

The Max 2 is still in early development and we are playing around with a few idea's.  Some of the feed back we have been getting from BDP-1 customers is that they arn't use to creating a playlist before playing a song.  They are use to program like iTunes or Media PLayer were they just click a song and it starts playing.  So I thought i would try to emulate this kind of functionality in the artist and album view of the new max.  ultimately before its officially released we are going to have a toggle button that will allow it to work as is or simply add to the current playlist.  The Library by Album view is far from done, at this point i'm, just happy it loads in a reasonable time frame.  Yes we do plan on creating a method were the user clicks the album and then a list of the albums songs are displayed.

Have you tried refreshing the browser?

Cheers,
Chris

  • Dutch and Dutch 8C's…yes they are that good!
Chris,

I would be happy to test or play with the newer max code.

Shoot me an e-mail if you like.

Yep, as far as I can see it's only Sara....

Will follow your firmware versions gladly and whenever I think some positive criticism might help the development of the BDP1 into a even better machine, you'll hear from me. Keep up the good work!

The behaviour you describe is recognizable. Only caveat: I like to browse while playing. Click and play interferes with that immensly......

Having the possibility of user selectable interface behavour might indeed be the solution.

Thanks,
Marius

In mPad you have a choice of either click and play immediately or add to playlist.
I'm more used to using a CD player, so I use the former methodology.
It works for me but I can see how others would like the playlist model.

The thing that peeves me is tagging of artist names.
If I want to buy a CD from a shop and the CD is by Robert Plant, I go to the "P" section.
I store my CDs in a rack alphabetically, so it goes in the "P" section along with Pink Floyd
When I want to listen to an album by Robert Plant on the BDP-1  have to search in the "R" section. Seems unintuative to me.

I know I can edit the meta data but.....
