FS -- Oppo BDP 83 Special Edition -- SOLD
« on: 30 Jun 2011, 08:16 pm »
I am selling my Oppo 83SE. (Now Sold.  Please, no more calls)

Price is $600 and includes shipping within CONUS and PayPal fees.

The unit is in excellent condition and has had light use.  I will ship with all the original packing/foam, the Oppo tote bag, remote, owners manual, power cord, Spears & Munsil and AIX test discs, and HDMI cable.

This is the Special Edition version of Oppo's famous BDP-83.  The unit came from the factory as an 83SE, not retrofitted later (if that matters to you).  From the Oppo website:

"The OPPO BDP-83 Special Edition Blu-ray Disc Player is an exciting upgrade based on the highly acclaimed BDP-83. Already well known for its exceptional audio and video performance, the BDP-83 is upgraded with an all new analog audio stage and improved power supply to become the Special Edition. Designed for the discerning audio enthusiast, the OPPO BDP-83 Special Edition Blu-ray Disc Player delivers an exceptionally wide dynamic range, ultra low distortion, accurate sound stage and jitter-free music clarity via its dedicated stereo and 7.1ch analog audio output.

... The OPPO BDP-83 Special Edition uses an 8-channel Sabre Premier (ES9006) DAC chip for its 7.1 multi-channel output. The dedicated stereo output uses another 8-channel Sabre32 Ultra (ES9016) DAC chip by stacking 4 DACs for each of the Left and Right channels to achieve even greater audio performance."

It really is an excellent universal player for audio and a super DVD/Blue-ray player rolled into one.

I have purchased and sold a number of items on this site and as dmatt200 on Audiogon.  So far, no one has come after me.

Thanks for the consideration.

David

It looks like the number of un-modified 83SEs on A-gon may be dwindling.

So I am bumping this in case someone is looking for a perfect specimen.

Cheers,
