Battery powered Touch?

Thinking of trying my Touch with battery power. Either stock, Bolder modded with with an outboard DAC. Has anyone tried this?

Does anyone make a buyout battery kit that will work with the Touch? I know there is the Black Lightning, but it's pretty spendy.

Have you talked to Dave Elledge of PI Audio Group about a BatteryBUSS for the SB Touch?  It does have 5VDC outputs.

That's a great thought. I would ask him first. Or else you are stuck making an uber power supply.

I've tried battery powering a SBT.  It pulls a lot of current for a source component.  With a 5aH SLA it sucked down the battery in a few hours so not very practical except for short listening sessions.  I went with a linear PS so I could leave it on and not worry about the power/charge cycle stuff.

From the specs, a 12VDC@100Ah AGM battery will last almost 50 hours on a charge.

The PowerSonic AGM battery of that capacity is what most folks are using with the BatteryBUSS.
