What are some other favorite audio forums?
« on: 23 Nov 2011, 06:14 am »
Just curious what other audio forums people here frequent? By far, the most of my time browsing through audio forums is here on Audio Circle. But sometimes, I wonder what other online forums people go to pretty often for good quality info. I've spent a bit of time on Audiogon forums, but it is not very user friendly to search topis, etc. Also a bit on AVS forums, which is pretty good, but seems geared a little more toward home theater folks.

I spend quite a bit of time at the Parts Express Tech Talk forum.  Primary discussions have to do with DIY speaker building but also cover many other topics.  I find the folks to be friendly and helpful with very little drama or criticism.  I stop in at DIY Audio and Home Theater forum every day as well.

AudioKarma, AudioAsylum, AudioEvo, Manufacturers' sites of every stripe, Google audio forums and the web-wide-world of audio chat will open before your eyes. My name is michaelhigh, and I'm addicted to audio forums.

Audioroundtable.com occasionally, mostly for my interest in Pi Speakers.

You should look at the videos on 'youtube' - type in 'high end audio' or ' audio (and a year)' or a brand name like 'McIntosh ', you'll be in heaven for hour after hour. It can be considered a forum as you can comment & ask the video poster questions.

The forum at stevehoffman.tv is a generally fun and positive site, more useful for music discussion than audio gear but good all around. Digging into the archives for long discussions on stuff like the hieroglyphics of dead-wax engravings or the best versions of Getz/Gilberto or vinyl mastering gods can be highly rewarding.
