The BDP-1 Front Panel navigation should hide the following system files:

., .., ._.Trashes, .Trashes, .fseventsd, .Spotlight-V100, .Trash, System Volume Information, .HFS+ Private Directory Data*, .journal, .journal_info_block

We have just recently added the following to our Sept 30 2011 release:

.DS_Store, .apdisk and .com.apple.*

Chris

Great! Look forward to that then.

From the Windows world, could you also add  Thumbs.db  please?

And possibly *.jpg & *.JPG

coming to think of it: the extensions like .flac are always displayed. I wouldn't mind if that was left out, just like all the / and _ between numbers and titles.

Maybe you could have a look at that too?

this speaks for itself:

not there in Max by the way. Finder was hiding hidden files. Unhiding those this is revealed:

So the Bryston VFP still reveals those even when hidden. Otherwise it looks nice! Especially on the .....Ipad.

Thanks for that.

Hi Marius,

You can get rid of the hidden files using delete on the network and then reboot.

I know, had already done that...

After that I hid the hidden files again, and they're hidden in finder (and Max) but the Max VFP shows them anyhow. Nevermind, eventually you'll sort it? Another thing: VFP also shows accented vowels as ?.  Suppé is Supp<?> Minor thing too, but would be nice to see that changed.

Yes the VFP was kind of a last minute thing I thought would be fun so we should spend some more time working on it to fine tune it.

Hey Marius, do these characters display correctly on the real BDP-1 front panel?
I seem to remember seeing them too.

It would seem that between the two of us we'll get the BDP-1 product from a great product to exceptional product so long as the developers take on board some of our suggestions/bug reports. Yes?

BTW James, I'd be prepared to alpha test your upcomming disk drive thingy.

You need it testing on a real voltage supply - 240v that is!

I thought as much.

Damn, the hard disk inside my VW car radio copes with acute & grave accesnts without issue.

Come on James, you'll have the Québécois compaining next and we can't have that, can we? (notice the accents?   )

Some of these issues are Linux based I believe but I will ask.  I know you are correct that we have to do as best we can to make the interface as responsive as possible but I honestly feel that sometimes it overtakes the whole point of the BDP-1 - great sounding digtal playback :duh:

Doh!
Solved it.
Firefox > Tools > Clear Recent History
Et voila, a new button!
MAX VFP

"Settings" is now screwed though
I can't select the different tabs as the navigation area to the left is now blank.
It's ok in the iPad, thank God, just Firefox v6.0.2 on Windows XP.
Anybody else suffering like this?
I guess there ain't many with the 1st October firmware yet?

Settings still not displaying correctly in Firefox.
I had to download yet another browser (Chrome) for it to work.
Is Firefox no longer supported?
What's the latest here as I've heard no answer on this
