I've had the DACmini for a couple of weeks now and am loving it.
PFO, 6moons and Enjoy The Music think very highly of it.
Its my first real foray into digital music and its very impressive. Supposedly, the limit for a USB is 9', some say 15' max and right now I'm using a standard 16' length of Belkin and it sounds wonderful. I believe its what inside that counts as the JitterGuard really cleans up and buffers the packets before going onto the DAC. Don't forget that all signals come in packet bursts and never continuously stream via USB, so its what at the end that counts.
You get an awful lot for the money.

Good luck,

My vote goes for the Audiophilleo 1.  It clearly bettered the straight USB input on my old PS Audio Perfectwave DAC.  PM me if you decide to go the Audiophilleo route...I may be able to help you out.

Thank you all for your recommendations ...
Should I say keep them coming ;)

Audiophilleo 1 is looking super impressive ...

I would really prefer to get a USB Interface where I do NOT have to dedicate the computer (mac or pc) for music server purposes only ...
But with Audiophilleo 1 I still another DAC - which one - boy that opens up another can of worms ... ideally something battery operated ...

Modified HiFace also looks good ... especially the battery operation part ...
I had Tranquility SE at some point ... I loved the fact it was a one box solution but it really needed mac mini fully tweaked and dedicated ...
It is much easier to get another machine if it can be used by a normal person for basic stuff like browsing etc.
Thank you all for your help and support ...
Do I get Separate DAC or DAC built-in ...

Super Thanks
Sunil.

Sunil,

I also have the Audiophilleo 1 with a Bryston BDA-1 and the combo is fantastic. I just use an Alix in the listening room to drive the AP1 with a network file server elsewhere.

The Eastern Electric MiniMax DAC Plus has quite a bit of buzz right now.

Ok ... did not expect to go that route but took an instant decision (was it impulsive or an inner call ;) )
Getting a Zodiac ... it takes care of DAC, Headphone amp and Pre-Amp ... nicely justified ...
No I will have to sell the TRL Pre, and head-amp ... without any comparison of any sort ... I know it can't be a match for my TRL-Pre but I think it will help with my consolidation effort!
Thanks all
