LaBlogotheque - Most Hi-Fi Channel on YouTube!?

You guys have gotta check this YT channel out!  I admit haven't watched most of the videos, I was brought there by Battles videos (which BTW are f'in awesome, link below) but I've seen enough that I just have to share it with a bunch of audiophiles.  These videos have the best sound I've EVER heard on YouTube.  It's all super lively and room toney and "mikey". Fuuuuck, it is sooooo good!!!  If there's one thing I've learned from the Hi-Fi scene, is that part of it has to do with listening to stuff you might have ZERO interest in beforehand, as long as the recording is awesome.  I think that is the case here.  I've never seen ANY music video before that had a recording ambience like this.  Also, the video quality and editing is good too.

Listen to this f@#$*@#( awesome room: :drums:

That IS crazy awesome.  :o
(No room treatments either.)

There's an amazing music/sound culture in France - just listen to Daft Punk, Phoenix, Sebastien Tellier, Air, etc. These dudes know sound.  :thumb:

Check the Jamie Lidell vid... that guy is way on point. Just walking down the street, owning sh*t. Recording is amazing on that one too, incredibly enough.

I watched a few more, totally mesmerized each time and from what I've gathered, it looks like they've got each musician on a lavalier microphone.  Maybe there are other people off camera recording sound too, I am not sure.  Whatever they're doing, it works!  I'm listening on my Sennheiser HD600s and the world disappears, you're there in the space with them.  If that isn't the whole point of Hi-Fi I dunno what is!  It's like a new genre has been invented, the live musical field recording.  I am reminded of similar walk-and-play videos from Andrew Bird and The Civil Wars.  Good stuff maynard.

I'd have to say that LaBlogotheque is one of my favorite YouTube channels.  Could keep you busy for hours.   My other fav is the Candy Rat Records channel.  Tons of great stuff on that one too.  Check it out:  http://www.youtube.com/user/rpoland
