4 Telefunken ECC801S <> Vacuum Tubes (Labeled 6060) - price drop to $375
PLEASE MAKE SURE TO READ MY TERMS AND CONDITIONS (BELOW) CAREFULLY BEFORE PURCHASE.
This is for a group of four Telefunken ECC801S vacuum tubes in old white boxes. While I would like to sell these as a group, I may consider splitting them up for the right offer.
I may also consider trade value (see below).
While these tubes (and boxes) are actually labeled “6060”, they are undoubtedly ECC801S from the internal structure – triple mica, halo getter and small tab next to the halo getter.
All four tubes have a clearly visible <> in the bottom of the glass. Printing is OK to excellent.
As best as I can read them, the printed date codes are as follows:
Tube #1 U3200203 (489 on top of the glass)
Tube #2 U0100202 (477 on top of the glass)
Tube #3 U9000503 (170 on top of the glass)
Tube #4 U81150038 (407 on top of the glass)
I tested these on my Weston 981 III (for transconductance), which I find to be very reliable for testing most small signal tubes. The reject point (65%) on the Weston is 1190, and Gm is 3X the meter reading. All tubes were clean for shorts and leakage. The results are as follows:
Tube #1 2075/2025
Tube #2 2050/2250
Tube #3 1800/2150
Tube #4 1125/1425
I then ran them through a Transcendent Tube Analyzer at a plate voltage of 250V and a bias voltage of -2.0V. As best as I can tell, the Gm spec for a 12AT7 under these conditions is 5.5 ma/V (5500 micromhos). The results are as follows (in ma/V):
Tube #1 5.6/5.5
Tube #2 5.6/6.1
Tube #3 5.2/5.9
Tube #4 4.3/5.9
These results appear to be reasonably consistent with the Weston (except for one triode of tube #4), so for one additional check I ran them through a reasonably calibrated B&K 700. All tubes were clean for shorts and leakage. I believe “100” is supposed to be average new on the B&K (good is 65+), but this number does vary from tube to tube. In any event, the results are as follows (note that the triodes are reversed as compared to the other two testers):
Tube #1 104/106
Tube #2 115/102
Tube #3 108/94
Tube #4 101/72
Overall, the results on all three testers are generally consistent – there are three tubes that test really well, and the fourth seems to have a weaker triode (but still in the good range).
I can provide additional information or pictures upon request.
GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
Please note that these tubes are being sold ‘AS IS’, but I will guarantee against a DOA tube (does not work at all). In such event, I will refund purchase price less shipping upon return of the tubes in the same condition as sent.
I ONLY describe what I know about the tubes, and what I have tested for. Although my tube testers tend to be reliable, YOUR TUBE TESTER MAY GIVE A DIFFERENT RESULT THAN MINE, so please take that into account. If the information is not there, DO NOT ASSUME, and do not rely on any of YOUR assumptions. If you need more information than provided in the listing, ASK IN ADVANCE. If I happen to have the information, I will provide it. If I can get the information in a reasonable way, I will get it. If I do not call a tube NOS, consider that tube used. I do the best I can with very limited time and capabilities. I am an honest seller, but I am NOT a tube professional, and I am NOT in the tube business.
AS SUCH, PLEASE NOTE THAT I CANNOT GUARANTEE (OR EVEN REMOTELY PREDICT) HOW THESE TUBES WILL SOUND OR PERFORM IN YOUR EQUIPMENT. THE TEST RESULTS ARE ONLY PROVIDED AS AN INDICATION OF TUBE PERFORMANCE IN A VERY LIMITED (AND NON-IDEAL) ENVIRONMENT. OTHER THAN AS SET FORTH ABOVE, I EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ANY LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO THESE TUBES OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR USE OF THEM.
Shipping is at the cost of the buyer. Please contact me for a shipping quote.
Money order/cashiers check/personal check preferred, but all (other than US Postal money orders) must clear my bank first.
I may consider some trade value. My needs are few, but some possibilities include speaker cables (one or two pairs, 6-10 feet, but nothing too exotic), certain vacuum tubes (45, 46, 12AZ7, 12AZ7A, certain 12AT7 types, KT90, certain 7DJ8/PCC88, certain 6922/7308 and possibly others), and possibly other items at the right value.
I also accept Paypal for convenience (but add 3% to the total for USA, and 4% to the total everywhere else). IF YOU PAY VIA PAYPAL, HOWEVER, A CONDITION OF YOUR PAYMENT IS THAT YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE THE RIGHT TO FILE A PAYPAL CLAIM OR CHARGE BACK (but do retain the right to sue me in court should you so desire).
IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO ACCEPT EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THE ABOVE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, DO NOT CONTACT ME AND DO NOT PURCHASE THESE TUBES. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Please check my feedback on Audiogon, Videogon and Ebay (ID=baileyler) and buy with confidence.
