As is typical of arguably the best band in the world...they somehow kept it all under wraps until this morning.

Radiohead's new record, The King Of Limbs, is presented here as the world's first** Newspaper Album, comprising:

    * Two clear 10" vinyl records in a purpose-built record sleeve.
    * A compact disc.
    * Many large sheets of artwork, 625 tiny pieces of artwork and a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic to hold it all together.
    * The Newspaper Album comes with a digital download that is compatible with all good digital media players.
    * The Newspaper Album will be shipped on Monday 9th May 2011 you can, however, enjoy the download on Saturday 19th February 2011.
    * Shipping is included in the prices shown.
    * One lucky owner of the digital version of The King Of Limbs, purchased from this website, will receive a signed 2 track 12" vinyl.

**perhaps

The timetable:
Today; preorder
Saturday Feb 19:  the downloads (Mp3 or lossless wav) are available
March 28th:  regular cd and 12" vinyl released
May 9th: deluxe set listed above released.

It's out now!!!  I'm listening to it as I type (must be Saturday somewhere in their download system).  Nice b-day present.   :wine:

Here's the playlist:

1  Bloom   (5:15)
2  Morning Mr Magpie  (4:41)
3  Little By Little  (4:27)
4  Feral   (3:13)
5  Lotus Flower   (5:00)
6  Codex  (4:47)
7  Give up The Ghost  (4:50)
8  Separator  (5:20)

Quick record review:  In Rainbows Meets Amnesiac (with a lot of Eraser thrown in).  Very nice.    :thumb:

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Michigan, after a week of 40's-50's temps the snow is almost gone,
it's Friday and I'm listening to the new Radiohead album!!!

VERY laid back 2 am album.  Nice, but will polarize some.  Jonny guitar work is buried on some stuff but great nonetheless.  Play loud to get full effect.   :)

Yeah, definitely more laid back. Maybe my wife will actually listen to some of it!

I highly agree on playing it loud for full effect.

Fourth time through....wow!  It's becoming quite a different album than the first somewhat disappointing listen.  And "Separator" is now one of my all-time fave Radiohead songs.....

I see where a few online papers/mags have reviews that mimic my earlier comments (i.e polarizing, 2 am viewpoint, somewhat Amnesiac-like).  But I have said forever that if an album hits you spot on the first time you hear it...beware!!!  It likely has little staying power.  The converse can also be true.  :)

Oh, yeah,. play it loud.     8)

Anybody who DL'ed direct from the Radiohead website should be getting a link to DL 2 more bonus tracks, if you haven't already - Supercollider and The Butcher.  Nice touch.

Thanks for the reminder.  I Dl'd yesterday but forgot to add this.  They are 24 bit wav files, too (24/44 and 24/48).

They are like my favorite songs from the album, really enjoying them, I got that email and overlooked it until someone mentioned it this morning to me and then I saw aha!!!
A nice touch is correct, truly smart guys those Radiohead kids!!!  LOL

Holy shit is this CD ever holding up... the last 4 tracks are IMO the best thing they've ever done, I'm watching live from the basement now and am just amazed by how good magpie and little by little are too. Not to mention, the 4 "bonus" tracks. Just awesome. Did I mention I have tickets to see them in Austin in a couple months???
