I haven't opened them up yet...but the lights are out on my Stratos mono's. Is this just a light bulb/led replacement or is it more complex than that?

2 bulbs on either side of the faceplate, soldered in if memory serves.

Yes, 1 LED per side, and with the brackets one can change the intensity by moving the LED in relation to the side of the glass.
