Thought it would be interesting to mention this nice power cable i am using with my 14B. Its Gutwire powerclef/sq. The cable retails for about $1300. Since its a discontinued cable it can be had for around 500 bucks.

It seems insane that the 14B needs assistance in providing power to the sound stage but this cable unleashes the 14B's awesome capability. With no lack of air around instruments every note comes across with a sense of robust energy that it can easily be mistaken as a component change rather a pc change.

Yes.  I have only experimented with Harmonic Technology power cords (two different models).  Power cords can absolutely affect the sound.  The differences vary depending on the component.  Some components made little or no difference.  AND, the different level of power cord also made a difference.  Sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse.

No doubt that power cords and for that matter any cable / interconnect in your system will make some soft of difference.  In some cases the effect will be more apparent then others. 
 
It's worth noting that the cable is essentially a filter to the current/signal.  Some cables filter more of some things and less of others resulting in a different end result - a different sonic signature that is stamped on the orignal signal.  As long as the cable is not an "active" cable, the cable sits as a passive filter - it can only take away but never boost/increase the current/signal. 
 
Since cables are a filter there will always be some type of impact on the current/signal.  How much is perceivable depends on what the impact is, how strong of an impact and how transparent the overall system is.

I have never understood the logic of adding a meter of $1000 wire to the end of, say 30 meters of 12/2 Romex (@ $2.00/meter) that carries the electrons from the home load center to the electrical outlet.

   That supports my theory of power cords filtering out noise, ect.ect. My Vishnus have done whatever they do very well ;audible improvements in staging. The hi's are smoother too. My bp25 gets the most effect but the 4bst was also slightly better as well. Now I put one the BCD-1 ; certainly hasn't harmed anything .

That is an interesting thought.  Should be able to be tested.  I would think, however,  that the Bryston internal power supply would take care of electrical "hash".

Can't afford to...to many hobbies, a new wife, home remodeling and not enough money :>)...set of tires just cost me $2,400 and so it goes.
