New Speakers on their way!

My Tannoy Canterbury SE pair left U.K. today. Pictures before long, must learn to use that digital camera... I am excited, hope I don't

Nothing is ever as simple as it seems... I will actually have my Canterburys one week from tonight. I am curious about the supports under the speakers in the above picture, can you tell me what they are? Thx.

I am listening to my Canterbury's, and I am very happy

They even sound good with the grilles on... More open air ambience with them removed, of course.
So far I don't think I need to raise them, but I have stars in my ears...

I have heard that the The Cant's have the same drivers as the wonderful sounding West's.... which I have heard, and REALLY like.... The York's seem like the best bang for the buck (I have heard them)....

Thanks! After listening for this time I am satisfied that I made the best choice for me... They rise to any challenge and I have been rediscovering my music. I have been sticking to pretty standard fare, but recently tested the bass with some Gangsta Rap (don't ask me who) and they passed the test

. My LP's are smoother than ever with the Space 294, and my CD's are very acceptable with the M1 Dac. I have finally taken a picture of the system but I am still working on posting it, cut and paste is not working into this message.

Tonight I raised them on 4X4 sections... Incredible increase in clarity and transparency! Good listening to all of you!

Last night I had not evaluated the bass and then it was bedtime... Just got home and put on the Rap mix from my daughter's fiance,
it is also amazing... Cleaner and more detailed, but strong as ever. According to Jim Smith's "Get Better Sound" I would further benefit
from moving the components to the side, and treating the wall behind the Tannoys, but I am still pondering that. I'm slow...
It is already very good, and I would recommend getting his book and DVD's!
