Hi James,

I took the liberty of putting these 7B puppies through the paces. When I close my eyes I could be listening at the live recording or sitting at the front seat of a concert.

Talk about dynamic, purity, headroom, clarity and musical. I snuck my digital scope from work just to see what kind of power these 7Bs were kicking out. I tell you at a couple hundred watts my Infinties were just hammering out the bass with such ease and accuracy!

I love this equipment, even if it it keeps me from going out and cutting my days short at work. :)

I have a ton of music to revist from many years back. I truely am very proud  to own this equipment.

I would like to thank you and all the crew at Bryston for making very happy.

Cheers!
Vlad

Hello James -

I am very pleased with the 7BSST squared!  I'm writing about them on Audio Asylum but not in the form of a formal review.  People have asked me about them vs my vacuum tube Manley Neo-Classic  monoblocks (~250wpc) and the hefty 7B's compare very favorably.  I included some web links below if you wish to read more.

Thank you!  ...Abe Collins - Colorado USA

Those Manley Neo's are a mighty fine amp - for getting the convert on that play you should get the game ball, James !

Hi James

I got the 7B-SST2 last Friday.

RIght off the box, I was surprise of the sound but I put on a tuner on  and left the system play for the next 48 hours. So on Sunday, I sat down to listen a bit to the system.

I could not believe the quality of the musical presentation the Bryston was bringing to the system. My previous amplifier sounded pretty good, a pair of Clayton Audio M200 mono bloc and they were running in Class A, so really hot. I was really happy with them. They sounded smooth but rolling a little the highs, sound a little dark, well typical Class A amp.

To be honest with you, I did not know what to expect with the 7B.  The Mikey Fremer review did not help. THe last time I heard a Bryston amp in my system was a 4B-ST about 6 yrs ago borrowed from a friend  and they were good on bass and that is it, they did not came close to the Sim Audio W10 I had at the time. And 14 yrs ago, I bought a 3B-ST and a BP-25 with a pair of Paradigm Studio 60., a system I kept for about a year.  I was happy with the 3B for a little while but the sound was a bit grainy, well compare to the tube amp I replace the Bryston by.

I decided to buy a pair of 7B when I heard a pair of 7B-SST2 in a friend system (with a BP-26 and a pair of B&W Diamond 802). I taught the good sound was due to the speakers.

This is how I felt about Bryston, good on bass and  a bit dry for the rest.

But yesterday was an eye opening experience. I could not believe how smooth, details, the bass and I could go on and on about  these mono bloc. The sound is good at all volumes, a low or at a higher volume.  I have to say it is one of the nicest surprise I ever had buying an audio product. I never expected in my wildest audio dream to hear a Bryston sounding this good.  This amplifier brings a musical enjoyment on every cd or lp I've put on since yesterday and I don't see the reason why this can not continue for a long run.

There is always the honeymoon period with a new audio component but  this amp sound so right, that it is....this amp sound just right! I am puzzle that Fremer wrote that review.
Thank you very much for this superb product.

Best regards

If the 7B didn't impress me I surly wouldn't go for the 28B.But I have.
We vote with our wallet.
I really like what Bryston brings to the table.
It did take sometime to appreciate the sound much like it took time for
me to appreciate certain musical styles like Blues and Jazz, which I do
greatly.
So it's Bryston all the way for this oldguy.

Hi James.  Can you find out what model Infinitys Vlad is using.  I have a pair of 9 Kappas and can describe my experience when I installed my 7B SST2's the same way.  Invite him to join the circle!  :thumb:
