Wow that sucks. Fridge is about the next-most important thing after a car. AU isn't like the US but I still think I'd rather walk into a store and get one delivered next day. Fortunately new fridges aren't needed all that often.

I think most people recommended buying from an actual store versus a website. What were you thinking?  I'd check out a local store and see if they would match Loewe's price.  My local place, Grants Appliances beat Loewe's and Best Buy and they were awesome with discounts for some minor dents on the side I'd the fridge which are unnoticeable.  I'd never buy appliances on line.

Good luck

For the LG fridge I was originally looking for (because it's known to be very quiet and has no ice or water dispenser outside on the door), online prices were about $400 cheaper than the local store (Home Depot, which also did not have them in black - the color of my dishwasher and oven/stove).  Maybe for some people, $400 is chump change, but for me it's a significant amount of money.

As far as a local store matching Lowe's price, I ordered from a local Lowe's store, not from Lowe's online.  There aren't any appliance-specific stores anywhere near as close.  Grant's seems to be specific to Illinois.  Anyway, I got a very good price from Lowe's, especially with the 10% discount coupon.  Barring any disaster, I'll be doing fine I think.
