Is there a solution other than not being with my SP2 for a while?

Hi, I recently bought my SP2 online and had enjoyed it briefly.  I was putting a second TOSlink input into it, and it ran briefly, but then all the front lights went off (aside from the LCD).  I cycled the machine several times, sometimes getting a reboot by holding the "bypass" button down for a few seconds.  There are a few different outcomes.  The most common (90%) is after the initializing screen with progress bar, no lights, and the OS version is on the LCD.  Nothing works except power off and occasionally one push of volume up or down.  Another outcome (happens during the "bypass" reboot) is it will briefly say DSP Err, and then re-initialize.  The finally outcome is it will boot, then only the DVD light will go on and the LCD reads with the DSP FW version.

Has anyone experienced anything similar?  Is there a way to reset everything?  I'm trying to convince myself that the DSP isn't dead, but it isn't looking good.

It could be the fuse for the digital section or the power supply.  There are 2 fuses where the power cord goes into the unit on the rear.

I had a similar episode with my 1.7 a year or so ago.  Fuses were OK...sent to Bryston and the repair sheet said something about reprogramming the unit.  No problems with the unit before or since repair.  Suggest boxing it up and sending it in for repair.

Thanks for the responses, guys, I emailed service, and sent the unit for a repair.  I did check the fuses (which I should have mentioned) and they looked fine.  I got it to run for a bit after many, many reboots, but it would only last a while (30 min was the longest) before freezing.  All the problems were handling digital signals, so methinks the problem lay there.

Unfortunately, I only got a few hours of listening in before having to send it away.  My impressions were generally very positive.  The DAC sounds beautiful.  Channel separation and soundstage were significantly improved from my 12B, as was detail.

My few negative remarks would be a) it could have a delay feature (I saw this brought up before) as I have my bluray going in via Toslink to the SP2, but HDMI going into my DLP tv.  Unfortunately, the TV has a delay, so the video and audio are slightly out of sync.  b) Also something I've seen mentioned, when playing tracks iTunes->airport express->toslink->SP2, between any 2 tracks, even from the same album, the DAC seems to renegotiate the signal and there's that second or 2 that I miss from the beginning of any song.

I'm hoping that any repair or update to my unit will remedy at least the latter issue.

Anyway, I'm new to this board, and want to thank you guys for the input again - It's nice to see such a helpful community.  I know Bryston fans are very devoted.  I'm a longtime fan myself, currently with a 12B, 2B, 2 3B's, 2 7B NRB's, 10B and now the SP2.

The remote code 093 sets the delay for processing from 0 to 3 seconds in 0.5 second jumps. Every entry of code 093 moves the delay another 0.5 seconds. This delay is great on a TV input when switching channels, but you don't want any delay on the CD channel for example because you would miss the start of songs. Setting it to zero would likely solve your problem. I believe the default is 0.5 seconds.
