Hello.
My dad is looking for a 2 channel set-up for his living room. He has a vintage Pioneer turntable, and would like a reciever and CD player. He will be driving a pair of Michaura 55s I gave him. He is looking to spend around $500.
I've always been impressed with the Teac 300/500 reference system, which I think will be discontinued. I do not, however, have much experience listening to it or to a competitive budget 2 channel system. They seem to be of excellent construction, good reputation, and feature a phono stage. I was thinking of getting him the 500 series reciever and CD player, which would add up to about $500. What are your opinions or is your experience about teac's nice looking reference series?
Are there any other suggestions for a similar system in the budget 2-channel category?
Thank you!
