This is an extremely rare Technics 451C Strain Gauge cartridge with a factory  nude mounted Shibata stylus. Cartridge has 35 hours on it to break it in.

The phono board is a 2 channel custom board that is recommended by the savvy Stain Gauge users on this site. This board is built and tested, I had another working phono stage to use with the cartridge. All you need to add is a power transformer, chassis, on/off switch, and RCA in and out jacks. This unit is reported to be far and away superior to the version that Technics originally offered.

Bass and dynamics is exceptional. Tonal balance is even. Some feel its close in presentation to a DECCA cartridge.

So why am I selling it? While a very nice cartridge, I feel that the Accuphase AC3 I have an Liberty phono stage is better. But with that said, I hear things about the Technics I appreciate. I think I am going to sell the Accuphase and save my pennies for a Koetsu.

My price is $300 fair and firm. It's what it cost me, and worth the money. I am just passing it on to anyone who wants to hear what these Strain Gauge cartridges are capable of. Buyer covers shipping and paypal fees if used. Does not include head shell. Sorry for the basic pictures, you should be able to see the cantilever is straight and in great shape. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.
