Bi Amp HT2-TLs ?
« on: 1 Sep 2011, 06:02 pm »
I am a new HT-2 TL (L,R, and HT-1 center) owner and could not be more satisfied in the two weeks I've owned them.  As everyone has posted, absolutely amazing.  I have a 5 x 200w amp and am not using two of the channels and was wondering if anybody has bi amped their speakers and if it made an improvement?  Also, would I need to do anything additional as far as crossovers are concerned or are the speakers sep up to accept this?  I haven't ever bi amped but I feel the need to give these new speakers everything they deserve.

Since no one responded to your question yet, I figured I had better.

If the channels have the same gain structure (which I assume they do), you can certainly bi-amp.  You would have to split the inputs so you can drive two channels with each into.  Then remove the Cardas jumpers and plug one pair of cables into the woofer section and one into the tweeter section.  The crossover should handle everything from there.

If you have further questions, ask away!
