AudioCircle, Meet Sarah Jarosz

Here is Sarah appearing on Austin City Limits accompanied by two other musicians whose collective ages still make them younger than Willie Nelson.  This young lady is immensely talented.  I look forward to following what should be a long and prosperous career for her.

The video is of an episode of Austin City limits, which includes Steve Martin and his band.  Sarah and her band come on after Mr. Martin, who is highly entertaining as well.  She plays some of the stuff she has written including Brousard's Lament about the days after Hurricane Katrina, which is excellent.  She also covers Tom Waits - good stuff.

The SQ is surprisingly good with my cans plugged into the laptop.  Also, if you haven't already, check out the rest of the archives on the ACL site - a virtual treasure trove.

She has a dreamy quality that is very seductive.  Good find.  :thumb:

Yeah, the girl's got IT and I'll reluctantly agree about the dreamy/suductive thing. I say reluctantly, because the first time I saw her play she was about 12 years old. I can't seem to get that out of my head.

She has two CDs - Song Up In Her Head and Follow Me Down. In addition to her original tunes she covers the likes of Tom Waits, Dylan and Radio Head and on Song Up In Her Head she plays with the likes of Jerry Douglas and Stuart Duncan.  After listening to her first album it's hard to imagine she was just 17 when recorded.

I have em both, they're great - good to see that the flame is still burning and that good musicianship and music are being kept alive.
