The magic is in the setup and the installation being included in the price.  I would think of this, for instance, for an 80+ year-old who is interested in quality and simplicity and a name brand they've heard of.  It might be a decent tv but it's not for most of us, and I'm okay with that.

While a number of us slag Bose on sound quality (myself included), this A/V thingy of theirs is a brilliant bit of kit. If my parents (who are in their early 70s) could afford it, they would be on this in a heartbeat.

Exactly. Most of us who participate on forums like this consider this one of our hobbies. We enjoy taking the time to find the right pieces for our rigs, and the idea of swapping out gear, tubes, cables, etc isn't a chore, it's a lot of fun. Bose has no interest at all in us...they are going after the folks who like convenience and simplicity, and their marketing strategies are brilliant.

BOB,

But it comes with an iPod dock.  Sign me up! [/sarcasm]

I don't want to keep Bose bashing because it really does fit a need very well.  My stance is that as an integrator I can provide this with better quality components and equal ease of use for less.  Though I admit it will be hard to "hide" the speakers.  But what they do not really go into is that you still have all the components.  I need to see this thing in action...

I can't help to think how much money is being paid to Rich Warren of the News-Gazette to review Bose products. :shh:

Its really nice. I am not into building a HT or theatre sound so a tv like this is what i like.. The tv can get the sound across the room. It does a great job with no peripheral components. Its not lacking. Its a great tv but they blew it with the price.

Now if Bose had this idea from Aerial Acoustics they would have something.

Nice clean install, I will grant you that.

A little tougher for those of us with the Plasma over the fireplace!

Mind you, that pesky gas consuming space could EASILY be replaced with at least one 15 inch sub...
