Ortofon Concorde / MC200 on JVC QL-Y5F
« on: 12 Jun 2011, 04:20 am »
Hi Folks

I recently picked up a brand new Ortofon MC200 cartridge - it is the integrated model, shaped and designed like the concorde cartridges.

When I went to mount it about a week ago, I found that the mimimum overhang adjustment provided mounting to stylus distance of around 50mm (ish).... where the JVC required 48mm. :(

Does this make sense?

Has anyone tried the Concorde style integrated cartridges on a JVC QL-Y5F (or similar 48mm adjustment table?)

thanks

David

Hi David,
It is what it is. I think you should use one of those straight line protractors and see where the nulls are. Any 2 points between 60 and 121 would be a "good" alignment. Past that, I'd get out the hacksaw.

Been thinking of that....

Alternative is someone who has an old MC200U/TMC200 or MC100U/TMC100 without stylus - the styli on these are removeable / exchangeable

Sigh
