You gotta love the internet.  Find a spider crawling across your mousepad, pick it up and put it in a jar, forget your camera, release it back into the Wild and later plug a plain text description of said beastie into the interwebs and find out exactly what it was.  Then find a really gorgeous macro of one on Wikipedia and decide to leave the spider photography to the professionals anyway.

Looks like a friendly guy.
Spiders love me. If there is a spider in a room, it will try to bite me.
I know others allow spiders in thier homes, but i cannot, as they will find me and bite me. Mosquitos do not bite me much, just spiders.
The worst was i am sleeping.. I wake up and stuff feels like it is crawling on me.. I turn on the light, and thousands (seems like anyway) of tiny baby red spiders are pouring out of the ceiling light fixture down tiny silken strands onto me.
I did not get to bed for hours..... The mother load of spiders right over my head.... really happened to me.. back in the 1980s.

You know Elizabeth, I may be one of those "who cares" people when it comes to spiders...but that story is truely creepy. If it happened to me, I'm guessing my ambivilance might well change.

The only rule I have about spiders in my home, is that if I see them, they made a fatal error.  My little girls are now trying to save them, and release them - which I am cool with if they were an outdoor spider to begin with.

The only room I let them have their way in, is my cold room under the front porch.

As does the rest of the spider!  This guy was really jumpy, I'm surprised I was able to catch him.  My run-ins with spiders have been very few, but the annual war on ants has begun.  So much perfectly good land for them  outside, but nooooo…

Yes - I made that comment because it is a jumping spider.  :D

The ant solution is easy - just eat outside!

Actually, I found the easiest way to stop ants from coming inside - I assume it's the kitchen - is to sweep the floor every night after you have finished eating. No crums - they won't invade early in the morning.
