For the Powerwave mini amp extroidanaire?

Just plug the USB cable into the front of the PowerWave and it seems like you ought to be able to control volume and press it in for 'mute'.

Anyone know if this will work?  I was thinking this would be a good way to bypass getting a preamp for it and do it on the really cheap.

I have bothe the Powerwave and the Powermate and no, it doesn't work. Not as a only connection on the front anyway. Unless the PW is attached to a computer there is no power connected to the front USB socket, another thing is that the Powermate needs drivers and there's no way to load them into the PW. You'd thnk there would be something built in to allow this but no. A stupid oversight by Griffin in my books. These two would be awesome together without needing a computer.  :?
