My Almarro A205A picks up 98.5 fm all by itself and plays it loud and clear with the volume turned all the way down. It thinks it's a tuner, not an amplifier.

It also has a really loud 60/120 Hz hum, and the AC transformer gets hotter than hell. It's in pieces in the garage now 'cause I got tired of messing with it. No more internet recommendations for me. Lesson(s) learned.

OK, now that the whining is over

.......... if your Almarro is made anything like mine is, then it is just going to be more sensitive to RF interference than other tube gear. You may need to experiment with ferrites and zobels on both speaker and amp ends of the speaker wires, and maybe even the RCA inputs. Move anything with a switching power supply far, far away from it. Hopefully you have better luck with yours than I did with mine.
FWIW, some solid state components that I have owned have had the same "radio receiver" problem, so it's not just an issue that only plagues tube gear. (A Whest phono stage, Ampeg BA115 bass amplifier, and Allen and Heath Mix wizard, just to name a few.) Some companies just don't address all of the issues inherent to their product's design before they ship it out the door. I believe that is really the root of the problem.
Good luck with your Almarro. I hope it stays fixed.
