T8 is well engineered, well made, good specs, clear and dynamic, extended FR, etc.. while the VTL is a musical instrument, a very refined "high end" component at a much higher price. Both have a place, it depends on what you want.
It is not a trial period like an audition, so ask about returns before you order.
