Rocket 450's in south american rosewood with piano black risers. They function perfectly, however there are very small veneer fissures and nail pops on both speakers that are only visible when you are about a foot away from the speaker and the light is hitting them just right. Also, full disclosure, one riser leg has some paint cracking on one half of it. Put that half of the leg to the rear and no one will ever see it. Here are some pics:

I have the original speaker and riser boxes so they will be packaged very well.

Asking $495 $450 $420 $400 plus shipping and paypal, if used, for both the speakers and the risers. I live in Colorado Springs (80907) if somone local would be interested.

Are these signatures? Original boxes? Do you have any pics of the nail pops and/or fissures? Thanks, Wes

Wes,

I'm almost positive that the 450's, being the newest rocket design that had Danny Richie involved from the get go, didn't have a Sig version...they were basically sigs from the start!  :green:

I do have the original boxes as mentioned above.

Here's some pics of some of the nail pops/fissures:

As others have mentioned with similar issues, these are difficult to photograph...you need the light glaring off of them to see them. Straight on, with no glare, it's hard to see them, even close up. Most of the fissures are on the sides of the cabinets. I would call them "micro-fissures". They are not even close to being big, deep cracks.

Oh, putting the stands back in their box, I noticed that one of the stand legs has some finish cracking on half of it. I just rotated it so that that half faced the wall and was never visible. All the other legs are in great shape.

If you want a perfect finish, these are not for you. If you can tolerate a finish that 99% of the time looks great, then you can save some $ with these.

Thanks for your interest!

Opinion on best distance from rear wall??

They are rear-ported, so I'd say at least a foot. If you will be mainly using them for rear surround duty (7-ch) for movies, I personally wouldn't worry about that distance so much. For multi-channel audio, then maybe it's a little more important, IMO.

Actually, I originally bought them for rear surround duty w/ RS1ks up front and RSS300s on the sides. Nice to have a fairly full-range speaker for rear 7ch duty!

Rats, I need some that have to be against or very close to a wall :(

I might be interested if still available. I currently have a pair of 450's, center and 15" sub and live in Lafayette, CO. Why don't you email me so we can discuss.
