Nikon 85mm PC-E tilt-shift lens. It's been modified by having the CPU cable cut - so what, this kind of lens is a very manual lens to operate anyway. The best part? The price - $700 - it lists for $1700 at H&B and locally it's $3100.

Been wanting one of these for a while!

Sweet deal.  Thought about buying a TS lens too but there really isn't much available for Pentax.  Would love to see some samples.

I know this is your site and all John, but if you start posting pictures of "Hey look, I made this city\car\nature scene look like a little model!" in Eye-Fidelity I may have to take strict measures! :P

No seriously, that's cool.  Especially since I am trying to get a T\S lens at work.  It is really hard to find images online of people using them for sharpness rather than blur.  In any case I hope to see some loomy scheimpflug landscape goodness from you soon.

I would hope so!  No, all you'll get from me is slightly-more-in-focus spiders. Perhaps a fascinating fern or two.

Hm, he said he was going to post it today and send me the tracking info.

John, any chance you could post some shots you've taken with this lens? I'd like to see it in action.  :thumb:

To be honest this is one of those slower-than-expected things... Any day now I'll have my workshop set up again and I'll take a pic of the Thunderbird project that I need to get restarted - tilt the plane of focus to get all components in focus - that's the theory.

I rented a Canon 45mm TS-E lens for a week and at least for the purposes of shooting miniature buildings and wanting to make them all sharp like real buildings, it was a bust.  The not-close-enough minimum focus distance is what got me.  I was rather impressed with the large degree of shift available, more than I expected.  For the most part I thought it was just not as nice as using a proper view camera, at least not for $1500.  Cripes!  ƒ22 and focus stacking seems to be our lot.  Although the idea of having some sort of live video output to a TV screen or a Lightroom tethered shoot seems like it would be sweet.
