Any RM40 owners using Carver zr1600 digital amps??

This product has been kicked around a lot in earlier posts, but I wondered if any RM40 owners have had favorable results with it.  Additional power is needed due to my fairly large room.  I am presently using a Bryston 4bst with a Rogue tube preamp.  I was starting to seek a used pair of 7bst mono blocks, and spoke with someone who stated that he found the Carver a much better choice.  These are inexpensive, and I thought of possibly purchasing 2 for a bridged, or bi-amped attempt.   My understanding is  that the fan is many times replaced or disconnected, and that other modifications are very popular.   I would appreciate anyone's comments,  and experience in association with its use with RM40S.
Thanks,
Alan

I remember awhile ago Brian had a zr1600 in for evaluation (think he took it to John Curl's place for a good once-over too).

I don't remember exactly what his conclusion was (you should probably do a search of the VMPS forum to find his exact thoughs) but vaguely remember him thinking the higher frequencies were a little zippy, he could hear the switching, but that it was a very good performer on the bass side of things.

Sorry if I got that wrong.
