I want a single, simple system. I'm primarily an audio guy, so am staying with just stereo. My room follows the Cardas Golden Cuboid (8ft x 13ft x 22ft) and nearfield setup recipes. I'm set for speakers and monoblocks. We use Direct TV satellite.
I want a single screen for boardcast TV, a few movies, and spreadsheet/word processing computer work that will be approximately 10 feet from my wonderful chair/ottoman.
I want HD video and hi-res audio and plan on having two matching external hard drives for audio files.
I'd like to base everything on the mini (all system control, DEQ, disc play).
I currently have a about a $6,000 MSRP system and want to keep the budget in line with that. I listen mostly to classical and jazz at very reasonable spls. I'm an old fart, so all this has to be easy to use and extremely stable (no glitches or confusion).
