My first integrated back in1965 was a solid state Fisher.
Had that for a long time.
Somewhere aroound 1983 got a Hafler Dh110 and a Carver amp.
Then other stuff..
Last year i retired and got a pile of money. i thought i better spend it on something decent or i will blow it on crap anyway.
So i decided to buy magnepan 3.6 speakers.
The amps most often suggested to go with those maggies were bryston.
Lucky for me my dealer sold both. So after careful auditioning of the 4B-SST2 and Magnepan 3.6 i bought them both, and a Bryston BP-26 plus the 1.5
had planned on buying a Audio Research REF3 but various cosmic events caused that not to happen. i decided the real reason was i needed the Bryston instead of the ARC, as the Bryston I could leave on 24/7, and the tubed ARC preamp I would have to turn off, and retube, and worry about repairs..
So the Bryston is it.
Not very romantic.
There are still plenty of 'audiophile' types who scoff at Bryston as high end electronics. They have not bothered to listen. I did listen. I was impressed.
